Add a Post in the Block Editor

1. Log In to Your WordPress Site

  • Go to:ย yourwebsite.com/wp-admin
  • Enter yourย usernameย andย password
  • Clickย Log In

2. Go to the Posts Section

  • From the left-hand menu, clickย Posts
  • Then clickย Add New

3. Add a Title

  • At the top, youโ€™ll see โ€œAdd titleโ€
  • Click there and type in your blog post title

4. Start Writing Your Content

WordPress uses blocks for different types of content (text, images, headings, etc.)

  • Click where it saysย Start writing or type / to choose a block
  • Just start typing your paragraph
  • To add something else (like an image or heading), click theย +ย icon

5. Add Headings (Optional, but helpful)

  • Click theย +ย button
  • Chooseย Heading
  • Useย H2ย for main sections,ย H3ย for subsections

6. Add Images (Optional)

  • Click theย +ย button
  • Selectย Image
  • Upload a new image or choose one from the Media Library

7. Set a Featured Image (Optional, but recommended)

  • On the right side panel, find theย Featured Imageย section
  • Clickย Set featured image
  • Choose or upload your image

This image usually shows up in blog listings and social media previews.


8. Choose or Add Categories and Tags

  • On the right side panel:
    • Underย Categories, check the box(es) that apply, or create a new category
    • Underย Tags, type in some relevant keywords and press Enter

9. Preview Your Post

  • Click theย Previewย button (top right)
  • Chooseย Desktop,ย Tablet, orย Mobileย to see how it looks

10. Publish Your Post

  • Happy with how it looks? Click theย Publishย button (top right)
  • WordPress will ask you to confirmโ€”clickย Publishย again

Thatโ€™s it! Your blog post is now live.
